Trading

Trading moves fast. Your books keep up.

Many customers, many suppliers, goods in and out. Invoice from the warehouse floor, photograph supplier bills as they arrive, and see who owes you before you ship again.

What's different about your books

  • Import VAT on your return

A VAT-registered importer usually accounts for import VAT on its own return under the reverse charge, and recovers it in the same return where entitled.

  • Exports can be zero-rated

Goods exported outside the UAE can be zero-rated, provided you keep the export evidence. They still go on your return.

  • Designated zones

Some movements of goods within or between designated zones fall outside UAE VAT. It depends on the zone and the goods, so these need care.

  • Credit terms

Most sales are on credit. Knowing who owes what, and for how long, matters more than the month's total.

General information about UAE VAT, not tax advice. How a rule applies depends on your exact supplies; check with your accountant or the FTA.
